HEADCORN FARMERS’ MARKET FEBRUARY 10 SATURDAY 9.30-12.30 HEADCORN VILLAGE HALL HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF MAIDSTONE The next Headcorn Farmers’ Market will be held on February 10th at Headcorn Village Hall from 9.30-12.30 and as well as the usual array of local produce stalls, there will be an opportunity to have your say on the future of Maidstone. Maidstone Borough Council is bringing its Public Consultation Road Show, Make Maidstone Happy complete with 42 inch plasma screen TV and DVD player to Headcorn Farmers’ Market. It wants residents' views on this important document and will be asking people to complete a short questionnaire, after watching a short film. The film will explain that the Council has considered three main options for where future development should be located in Maidstone Borough, and which option the Council has chosen as the Preferred Option. If you care what the Borough will be like in 5, 10 or 20 years time, come along and have your say. Penny Kemp, Project Manager of Headcorn Sustainability said, "It is really important that people make their views known to Maidstone Borough Council. It is our future that we are talking about and any decisions made at the end of the consultation period will have repercussions for years to come. In terms of environmental sustainability, we need policies that deal with the ecological problems we face and we should welcome this opportunity to contribute to the core strategy preferred options." Headcorn Farmers’ Market will have an array of stalls selling fresh local produce as well as Valentine gifts for that all important day on 14th February.
