Parishioners are allowed to address the council on matters that concern them both before and after the meeting. Parish Council planning meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month commencing at 7.30pm in Long Meadow Hall and 4th Monday of each month commencing at 8.00pm in the Green Room at the rear of the stage in Andred Hall. Parishioners can address the Planning Committee on maters that concern them before the committee meeting starts. Hi Kent, the charity that works with deaf and hard of hearing people throughout Kent, has a clinic at the Methodist Hall in Headcorn on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 10.00-11.00am. People with NHS hearing aids can drop in and get their hearing aids cleaned and re-tubed and collect fresh batteries free of charge. There will also be free advice and information about Hi Kent's wide range of equipment including telephones and television listening devices. These items can make a huge difference to someone with hearing loss. Everyone welcome, no appointment necessary. If you are interested and over 18 (there is no upper age limit) and you either live or work close to the village and are available at short notice then Stuart would like to hear from you.The Fire Station personnel will undertake home fire safety checks on request and can fit free 10 year smoke alarms if required. They are also available for talks and demonstrations to local clubs or societies. The Parish Church Choir

The Parish Council holds a limited number of filled sand bags, which can be obtained by contacting the Flood Warden on 01622 890270 or Parish Clerk on 01622 892496. Vehicles on Day's Green and Hogg's Bridge Green It is illegal to drive or ride on the village greens without the permission of the Parish Council. At this time of year the greens can be seriously damaged. If you see a car or motor bike on any of the greens please try and take the number and let either the parish constable of parish council know. Remember turning a blind eye is tantamount to agreeing with what is happening. Village Community Centre For fund raising events and ideas see Community Centre page Community Centre. Street Lighting If you know of an area in the village which might benefit from and additional street light please let the parish council know. The Council has a policy of upgrading older street lamps to the latest type, but this will take several years due to the cost. Some lamps may be upgraded when they breakdown.
