Welcome to Headcorn Library information page. The local library is run by the Kent County Council Arts and Libraries Division. Having a permanent library in Headcorn is an important part of the community, not only for Headcorn, but also the surrounding villages. It has been hard fought for and needs to keep your support for the service to continue. As well as having the details of opening times etc. this page will contain details of other events taking place and some of the services that the library has to offer. As well as a wide variety of fiction and non fiction books for children and adults the library has DVD's, video's and spoken word cassettes and CD's for hire. The Library often has photographic and historical exhibitions. The new exhibition is Hop Picking. The Library holds Coffee & Chat sessions - bring along an interesting item, article, book etc. to talk about. Meetings take place on the first Friday of each month at 10.30am. All welcome. Refreshments provided. The Library now has weekly Storytime sessions for young children on Tuesdays 2.45-3.15pm, operated by Headcorn Children's Centre. Further in formation regarding Kent's library services is available on http://www.kent.gov.uk/leisure_and_culture/libraries.aspx The Library is located in King's Road in the middle of the primary school complex in the old school building. Internet The library has 3 PC's, plus colour printer and scanner. All of these are connected to a high speed link and the best is that the service is free. This is an opportunity to get to use the internet. The service is available during normal library hours. Why not keep up-to-date with parish affairs by viewing this site there. You can, for a small charge, print those pages or take in documents that you want scanned. The service can be used for research or to look up anything that you wish, within reasonable limits. One PC can be booked by contacting the library. The Library has Computer Buddy sessions for beginners on Tuesdays from 2.00-4.00pm and Thursdays from 2.00-5.00pm. To avoid being disappointed it is a good idea to contact the library (01622 890566) and book a session. Citizens Advice Bureau A Citizens Advice Bureau "Drop In" session is held on the third Friday of each month from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.
