The objective of the Lottery shall be the provision of funds for specific projects for the Centre being a registered charity. All proceeds, after deducting sums lawfully appropriated on account of expenses, or the provision of prizes, shall be applied to the said charitable purpose. Rules & Objectives of the Lottery 1. The Lottery shall be known as The Headcorn Community Centre Lottery Club. 2. The objective of the Lottery shall be the provision of funds for specific projects for the Centre being a registered charity. All proceeds, after deducting sums lawfully appropriated on account of expenses, or the provision of prizes, shall be applied to the said charitable purpose. 3. The control of the Lottery and funds shall be the responsibility of “The Headcorn Community Centre Lottery Club Committee” and all decisions relating to any matter regarding the Lottery shall be the responsibility of that Committee. 4. The Lottery shall be restricted to two hundred members. 5. Membership of the Lottery shall be available to any person over the age of 18 years whether or not they live in Headcorn. 6. The cost of membership shall be £5.00 per ticket per member per month. There will be no restriction on the number of tickets held per member. 7. Subscription shall be paid by Bank Standing Order on the first day of each month. 8. On the third Friday of each month (or as near thereto as possible) three tickets will be drawn and prizes for the three winning members will be paid by cheque within three days. 9. Each draw will be held in public and attended by at least three members of the Committee or nominated representatives. 10. Prize money shall represent 35% of ticket sales and the balance of 65% shall go to the Community Centre. 11. When full membership is achieved (200 members) the three monthly prizes will be:
12. Until full membership is achieved, prizes will be calculated using the percentages as above. 13. A list of prize winners will be maintained by the Committee for all members to see and winners names published on the Village noticeboard, the Parish magazine and any suitable free local paper.
