Headcorn Short Mat Bowls Club The Club was formed in the Autumn of 2005 by three residents with the intention of playing in the new Community Centre/Village Hall which was being built. It was realised that it would be about a year before the Club would be able to start playing. This enabled the Founder Members to form a Club, draw up a Constitution, open a Bank Account and seek funding. A Grant was obtained including 3 large mats upon which the bowls are played. Play was started on 26th October 2006 by which time a membership of 36 had been built up. At present we are playing on Tuesdays 9.30am to 12.30pm and on Thursdays 7.30 to 10.30pm in the new Headcorn Village Hall. There are 35 members of whom 26 play regularly. We are a friendly club and we are looking for some more members both male and female, age is not important and it is not necessary to have had bowls experience. Coaching is possible. For further information phone (01622 891593) or come and have a look at us on one of the above sessions.
